Tierwise

Crowdfunding creators usually price reward tiers by feel, and the damage shows up months later at fulfillment, when shipping and fees land on the most popular tier. Tierwise models every tier before launch: unit cost, packaging, platform and payment fees, and shipping to each region, weighted by the backer mix you expect. It tells you the margin on each tier in each region, the funding goal that actually breaks even, and which tiers lose money once they leave the country.

Example campaign — an invented tabletop game; fee and shipping figures are editable assumptions, not quotes

What to try

  1. Look at the Deluxe row: profitable in the US, underwater for rest-of-world backers once shipping is folded into the pledge.
  2. Tick "Charge shipping to backers separately" and watch the red cells and the break-even goal change.
  3. Raise the Deluxe pledge from $89 to $99 and see how much of the gap it closes.
  4. Shift the backer mix toward rest of world (for example 40 / 25 / 35) to stress-test an international audience.
